Admiral Nelson was named Duke of Bronte, by Ferdinand IV King of the Two Sicilies as a reward for his conduct during the Neapolitan revolution of 1799. In Maniace, near the Castle of Nelson stands a small English cemetery, where the dukes of Bronte and the Scottish poet William Sharp (1855-1905) are buiried. Sharp also wrote under the pseudonym of Fiona Macleod. In Passopisciaro visit the house that was once inhabited by Ettore Majorana, and still owned by the family. On the facade of the villa, the famous physicist has engraved his name and a sundial that traces the direction of the crater of the volcano in the thirties. A big party awaits us in Sciaranuova where the end of the grape harvest is celebrated today.
