PLANETA CELEBRATES 30 YEARS OF PASSION AND INNOVATION IN THE WORLD OF WINE

14-17 April 2024 at Hall 2 Sicily – Stand 16 B

Planeta is looking forward to participating in Vinitaly 2024, the international wine and spirits trade fair, whose mission is the promotion of Italian wine in the global marketplace.

From 14 through 17 April, Francesca, Alessio, and Santi Planeta will welcome guests and visitors to join in celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Planeta winery. They will present their extensive portfolio of 30 wines, representing an annual production of 2.4 million bottles sourced from almost 400 hectares of vineyards cultivated in strict accord with the tenets of organic agriculture.

The Planeta stand will not be merely a place to welcome customers and showcase Planeta products: it will also offer an immersive visual experience through a collection of evocative photographs that capture the beauty and authenticity of the winegrowing areas, while the walls will be enriched by graphic images paying homage to the flora and fauna of Sicily, all these striking elements adding a distinctive and intriguing touch to the exhibit area.

Numerous technical tastings will feature our wines:

Sunday, April 14th:

_Presented by Civiltà del Bere: “Beyond the DOCs,” exploring new perspectives of Italian wine, featuring our Etna Bianco 2021 (magnum format). Accreditation for this tasting is available via the following link.

_Hosted by Cronache di Gusto: Svinitaly, the club of wine enthusiasts, where our Eruzione 1614 Carricante 2018 will be tasted.

_Organized by the Agriculture Department, a tasting session on Nero d’Avola conducted by Master of Wine Pietro Russo will take place in the Meeting Hall of the Sicily Pavilion at 12:00.

Tuesday, April 16th:

Tasting of Great Italian Native Varieties, curated by the President of Assoenologi, Riccardo Cotarella, featuring our Santa Cecilia 2021.

Our wines will also be featured in various locations throughout the event:

• Ice Business Lounge – Wine Bar at Vinitaly, organized by the Sicilia DOC Consortium with Segreta Bianco 2023 and Serra Ferdinandea Bianco 2021.
• Consorzio Cerasuolo di Vittoria, featuring Dorilli, Frappato, and Cerasuolo.
• Doctor Wine dispenser, featuring Controdanza 2020.
• Sicilia DOC Tasting Area with La Segreta Bianco and La Segreta Rosso;
• At Enoteca Italia (Vinibuoni – Hall 10 Stand H2), the Etna Bianco Contrada Taccione 2021 will be available.
• Grandi Cru d’Italia Gala Dinner with Chardonnay 2022.
• Donne del Vino Gala Dinner with Controdanza 2020.

On Saturday, April 13th, we will participate in Opera Wine. This event, born in 2012 through collaboration between Vinitaly and Wine Spectator, presents the best Italian wines to international specialized operators attending Vinitaly. The wine selected by the Wine Spectator editorial team for Planeta, which has participated in all editions of the event, is Chardonnay 2020.
